Day workshops on writing fiction, Algarve

Anthology of Short Stories set in the Algarve. We are currently hoping to put together an anthology of short stories set in the Algarve. The aim is to provide a snapshot of life in the Algarve. If you are an established writer and would like to submit a short story (any genre considered) between 500 - 5000 words, please do so to before end of July 2008.

Ideal for anyone wanting to do something different while staying in the Algarve. These workshops run from 10.00am until 5.30pm during the summer months (April - Oct) at Casa Mira Montanha in Chilrão (between Marmelete and Monchique) and include lunch in Monchique. Suitable for beginning writers and those with some experience. All nationalities welcome although the courses are held in English. Groups sizes are between 3 - 4 students. Places need to be booked at least a couple of days in advance.

The courses will focus on the short story and introduce aspects of fiction including character, writing description, plot development and forms of narration.

Half day workshops (10.00am - 12.30 or 2.00 - 4.30pm) are also available and can be combined with other workshops in Chilrão on painting and/or creative writing for personal development with Liz Allen (visual artist) and Keith Beasley (writer and Reiki teacher).
